In the Limelight: Kelly Reed

Broadleaf has long been recognized as a premier provider of total talent and workforce management solutions. But who are the people behind the scenes that help make our success possible?

In this edition of our “In the Limelight” series, meet Kelly Reed—a Business Solutions Designer at Broadleaf. As a part of the Business Solutions team, Kelly works closely with our internal client delivery teams, customers, and technical resources to implement new programs and provide solutions for existing client engagements. Her ability to stay abreast of emerging industry trends, track and communicate best practices within our organization, and monitor technological advancements to develop strategic operational solutions has played a critical role in Broadleaf’s success. Her enthusiasm is contagious and can be witnessed in everything that she touches. How many people do you know that can problem-solve with a smile on their face?

Nashville roots

I have always called Nashville my home and love the diversity the city offers—not to mention the booming growth that’s done wonders for my property value! Growing up the oldest of three girls, I discovered a passion for service early in life—always taking advantage of any chance I found to feel helpful. After graduating, I began my career in customer relations and learning and development— exploring a few industries before finally landing in talent acquisition.

Path to Broadleaf

My career in recruiting began at the staffing firm level. I cut my teeth on a variety of roles at a locally owned agency franchise for nearly a decade. I found a great deal of career satisfaction in my roles as a Recruiter, then Outside Sales, and ultimately as the Branch Manager. My career growth led me to the world of Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) and TalentRise. Starting as a Recruiter and moving into a more technical development role on the Operations side of the business, my time at TalentRise provided me with an incredibly rewarding experience. After TalentRise was acquired by the Aleron Group of companies, I joined the Business Solutions team at Broadleaf.

The Broadleaf experience

Each day as a Business Solutions Designer, I have the opportunity to develop my project management skills—under the caring and strategic guidance of Broadleaf leadership—and witness just how deeply Broadleaf lives its corporate values. Our culture of continuous improvement fosters an environment where every team member is accountable for making a difference for our clients. The entire team supports each other in our push towards higher service excellence. The Business Solutions team is a tight-knit group of hard-working professionals and thrives on keeping everything running smoothly. What I love most about my role—and makes me excited to come to work each day—is the opportunity I have to help others by crafting a solution tailored to their specific needs.

In 2021 we witnessed the “Great Resignation” and are hopeful for the “Big Bounce Back” in 2022. As the workforce solutions industry witnesses constant change, Broadleaf is leading the way by shifting strategies to better meet the needs of employers and job candidates. Our team brings value to each stakeholder that we touch through the partnerships we form. We work to uncover untapped resources and build great relationships between our clients and talent communities.

Life outside the office

When I’m not working at my desk, chances are I’m focusing on my family. I also regularly volunteer with Southern Alliance for People & Animal Welfare (SAFPAW) providing meals for people experiencing homelessness or living at or below the poverty level in Nashville.

I’ve been married to my husband Sean for 20 years and have a smart and beautiful 9-year-old daughter—Alison—that delights and challenges me every day. I have an adorable little chiweenie (chihuahua/dachshund mix) named Frito who makes occasional appearances on our video conferences, and a sweet kitty cat.

My secret talent is that I can play five different musical instruments, and if I could travel anywhere—with money being no object—you would find me in Europe taking in the incredible sights and exploring its rich history and cuisine.
