In the Limelight: Alyssa Sabio
Broadleaf has long been recognized as a premier provider of total talent and workforce management solutions. But who are the people behind the scenes that help make our success possible?
In this edition of our “In the Limelight” series, meet Alyssa Sabio. Having been recently promoted to the position of Client Delivery Manager, Alyssa brings a wealth of workforce management experience to the Broadleaf team. Her can-do attitude, critical thinking skills, and keen eye for detail have been critical in helping our clients to generate efficiencies and wring every ounce out of value out of their MSP programs.
Buffalo: Born and raised
I’ve been fortunate to call western New York home for my entire life. I grew up in the suburbs before moving to the city as a teenager. After graduating from Canisius College (a Buffalo school—go figure!), I began exploring the job market in search of HR positions. My mother built a successful career in HR, and I took an interest in that industry because of her involvement. But after discovering a position as a Staffing Coordinator with Broadleaf’s sister company, Acara Solutions, I knew the role was right for me. Although the position wasn’t entirely HR-focused, the consistent stream of interacting with people really enticed me.
A major MSP transition
In my role as an Acara employee, I got my feet wet in the world of recruiting and talent acquisition. Little did I know that this experience would come in handy just a few years down the road. After a few years at Acara, I transitioned to Broadleaf and began my tenure as a Talent Acquisition Advisor. There, I supported one of our largest MSP accounts in a supplier management role. I quickly fell in love with the MSP side of the business and the way that I could cultivate strong relationships with both customers and suppliers alike.
Dreaming of DCDs
In my current role as Manager of Client Delivery, I sit onsite at one of Broadleaf’s legacy MSP customers. There, I interact with key stakeholders from HR, TA, and procurement within the organization. In my opinion, having an onsite presence at some point during the MSP program should be a necessity to better understand the company and key stakeholders. I’ve enjoyed my time sitting onsite and have developed some pretty incredible relationships. Looking ahead to the future, I’m excited to continue to learn more about the staffing industry. In particular, I want to enhance my knowledge of RPO programs. This will help me in reaching my next goal of becoming a Director of Client Delivery.
Rockstar role model
For the past few years, I’ve been incredibly grateful to work under Suzie Mitchell, our Vice President of Client Delivery. The two of us have developed a great rapport. Suzie is a lot like me—she’s a straight shooter, not a “sugarcoater.” She’ll let me know when I’m doing well, but she’ll also tell me when I’m making mistakes. I’ve always appreciated her honesty and have learned an awful lot from watching her interact with customers. She maintains the perfect balance between being strategic and professional yet friendly and positive. Suzie is the definition of a strong, independent woman. Our world needs more women like her in it!
Broadleaf in one word
If I had to describe Broadleaf in one word, I’d use “dynamic.” As an organization, we are never stagnant; rather, we are always evolving to stay ahead of the curve within the workforce solutions industry. And as you could probably tell, I’m very passionate about raising women to be strong and independent, so getting to work for one of the most dynamic and influential female leaders in Buffalo—Lynne Marie Finn—is incredibly gratifying.
Non-professional passions
I’m a Disney fanatic—have been my whole life! Fun fact: one of my 15 wristwatches has an image of Minnie Mouse on it. While I’m at work, I constantly listen to classic Disney songs on the piano. And when I’m looking to unwind after getting home from the office, I’ll kick back on my couch, treat myself to a glass of Riesling, and binge-watch reality TV shows. My favorite? Keeping Up With the Kardashians (don’t judge me… we all secretly keep up with what’s going on in their lives!).
